Question: I would like to know if i have clinical depression.?

I never have any motivation to do anything and always feel sad. I felt very bad one day and my step mom has sertraline (generic zoloft) for her depression and I took one and then about 15- 20 minutes later I felt way better, I wanted to go and be social. It was odd. (yes I know I shouldn't take pills that aren't mine) I am 14, but nobody thinks I am, everybody says I act way older than I actually am. I have a lot of things going on in my life. My mother has recently kicked me out and I am living with my dad who hasn't been around much since I was 3. I know things like that can trigger repressed emotions. I really don't like being like this though, it's hurting my socialization severely. I have been in a new high school about 4 months and only have 2 friends. (they are older than me) My father says that I just need someone to listen so I try to talk to him but he tells me just to grow up. (which doesn't help) I don't know, it's late there is more stuff that I could put. I just wanted some advice how to fix whatever is wrong in my demented little brain. Are any of those reasons why I might be depressed.(I ramble about things a lot so if it makes no sense sorry.)

You are not clinically depressed but you might wanna take some pills < eat something because if you take those depression pills on empty you will get sweaty and shaky and cold, trust me ive been addicted to pills for 2 years now. eat something sugary before or right after taking it

Sure, you totally could be. You could just be in a depressive period for now. The fastest way out might be seeing the school counselor. Maybe your dad could find you one if the school doesn't have one. I'm sorry about your mom. That sucks.

The only way to know for sure is to see a psychologist. If you need someone to talk to, I'd be happy to listen. princess_ali@rocketmail.com I started having symptoms of depression at 14 too... no one believed me either.

I urge you to see a therapist as soon as possible. I have seen too many people at rock bottom thinking of suicide or other things to stop feeling pain. It looks like all of the things you have mentioned are very likely to cause depression. I'm very sorry to hear about your situation and I know it is tough as I share some similarities with your situation, but, a psychologist (at school or elsewhere) is your best option and they can diagnose you properly. Remember, it is never too late to get better and there are many people who feel similar to how you do...I hope this helps

There is 0% chance that the Sertraline had that effect on you. For that type of medication to work, it requires 6+ weeks with taking constant doses for your body to adapt and feel the reaction. What you experienced is a placebo effect, which means that some counseling can probably help you a great deal. Sounds like you have have some issues, but it doesn't sound like clinical depression. Talk to your school counselor. Hopefully that person will find you the help you need.

I had a very similar problem for a long time, and got it solved in a great and cheap way. There is a on-line psychologist who help for ONLY cents a minute. Yeah less then $50 an hour!!! And he only charges you for the time spent. I really enjoyed his help, and can live a normal life now. The only downside is that you need Skype and a Paypal account. Also since he travels a lot he can be a little hard to reach at times. Look him up through Skype, his name (although a little strange) is Devil5oh4 (but he can explain that name to you).

Not sure, but if you paint with blood and have been cutting yourself, ended up in the hospital than that's probably a yes. Sry, I got this off one of your answer. Try calling a helpline that you think that would help.
