Been there done that, hon. I do understand. There are lots of treatments for eating disorders and lots of places you can go and lots of different and creative ways to get there. Places: shadesofhope.com tpoftampa.com milestonesinrecovery.com All of these also have toll free numbers and you can call anytime to talk to someone. Organizations: oa.org foodaddictsanonymous.org eatingdisordersanonymous.org ceahow.org All of these are free "self " help groups that have online and phone meetings as well as face to face meetings. Therapists: somethingfishy.org is a site with names and numbers and resources all over the country. Ways to raise money: Ebay, Craigslist, Freecycle (collect for free and later sell in a garage sale), Garage Sale, write letters to everyone you know asking for donations, Concert (if you sing or play an instrument or know someone who does who would offer it for your sake), Sell Mary Kay or Avon or Tupperware or anything that is on the party plan and doesn't cost much to start (if you are under 18 then you will have to have parental permission). Don't have a bake sale!!! LOL. Call churches and other non profit organizations and tell them you are raising money to help someone go to ED treatment and any little bit will help. I personally know ppl who have done all these things...Now, not knowing how old you are, I will ass-u-me that you are under 18 and say, you could tell your parents and see if their insurance covers treatment. If you are having a hard time telling them or they dismiss the disorder or you, then go to a trusted teacher, nurse or counselor at school or your pastor or youth pastor at church and ask for help talking to your parents. |
